ER NEWS July/August 202 volume 2

visit ermowingplano.com to see latest updates/reviews & SEPTEMBER offering discounts of 10-15% depending if Garden Beds, Mulch Installation or Shrub Trimming

As of 9/1/24 – we have served 44 clients. August we celebrated our fourth month. Thank you for being on this    journey with us. We are thankful and blessed that you have been in our life.

July and August we focused on some projects. August we had an adult back to school    special that we were able to offer for projects that were not about  mowing. Mowing/Lawn care is our core    of who we are and who we will be. BUT…we are more.

We were able to do major garden bed clean up, shrub    trimming and mulch projects.

Follow up to June projects for dethatching and grass    seeding went really well. We actually saw more success than we thought with    the erosion control blanket with seed included. Next time we will do the seed with an    erosion control net over for better success rate.

Evan's Giving Update

We are about ‘give where you live’. We do that with your help each month donating  10% to a local charity or one that we believe makes an impact.

May we gave to Plano Senior High, as we and family are alumni.

June Child Advocacy Center of Collin County – making a  difference in helping kids who were abused and their abusers getting their  due.

July Minnie’s Food Pantry – located on the east side of  Plano. Giving to those in need. August  was Minnie’s Food Pantry – located on the east side of Plano. Giving to those in need.

August proceeds are earmarked for Richardson Humane Society  – this is where Evan was able to adopt his new fur babies of Echo and  Juno!

Design - Construct - Maintain

Garden beds are places that quickly get overrun by weeds,  vines, and the little things.

Shrubs quickly get out of hand. Now that Garden Bed is  taken care of, shrubs are a good starting point as holidays near. Lights and decorations are easier to manage  when shrubs are cleaned up.

Finishing touch…mulch it up! This helps prepare for  winter and for the now. Helps pull out weeds,  keep weeds from growing fast and helps protect foundation and plants.

Finally, don’t forget this month to put down the pre-emergent. This is not about killing the existing weeds.  This is about the future and allowing Spring to come with fewer weed issues.  This is probably the last month to put down some weed killer, but keep in mind  the first frost generally is around mid November. Not sure about the bang for buck.

September we are offering discounts 10-15% for projects, such as garden bed clean up, mulch installation, and shrub trimming.

ER NEWS June 2024

News from the garden Don’t let our name fool you, we are Mowing but more. Shrub trimming, garden bed cleanup, fall leaf clean up, and tackling the dirty jobs to free you up. Welcome to ER Mowing!

Welcome to the first newsletter. We are honored to be able to serve those who are current customers, those we’ve met and being part of the community.

The vision for ER Mowing was given on Friday, 4/5/24. Our first client was mowed/dethatched 4/19/24. We have 23 customers that we are actively serving or have served. You have made a difference in our lives. Thank you.

In May, we were able to make our first donation of 10% to Plano Senior High School. This helps underserved youth.

June is Child Advocacy Center of Collin County

July is Minnie’s food panty

August is Richardson Humane Society – where Evan got his cats Echo and Juno.

Evan's Grassy Thoughts - Evan’s Grassy Thoughts By Evan Rude With your lawn comes a lot of work. Lawns have pests and issues with pH, moisture, soil fertility. As with human society, the grass community is influenced by cultural issues (ex. Brown patch if not fertilized or watered properly) and Natural factors (pests, availability of shelter, food and water). Biology was an okay course in school, but must be used with caution in your lawns. Sometimes, by killing pests, you are changing the climate. Perhaps you don’t see as many geckos, toads, or other creatures you saw before. Pests we do have to deal with chinch bugs, white grubs, and Bermudagrass mites. We’ll talk more about Whte grubs next month. The number one cultural issue to address is Mowing! Regular mowing becomes key to help prevent weeds and pests attacking. Mowing helps with basics: improve grass color, thickness, root development, texture and wear tolerance. Warm season grasses are here and ready

Design - Construct - Maintain: Each Sunday my wife and I go grocery shopping. She spends Saturday designing the meals for the week. Then we construct by buying what is on the list. Then the maintenance is to create and clean up the meals. We love the vision of what our yard may become. Some of us love to win the ‘Yard of the Month’. Some just want to bathe in the serenity of their private space. This all starts with the ‘design’. Here’s the deal – once the design is constructed, the part that lasts longer…the maintain. The hardest part of our job is the cleanup. This part matters because it doesn’t matter about the rest if there is trash or residual left over. Think about your vacation plans. Think about your age. Think about any fur babies in your life. Rocks and pebbles seem cool; reality is they harbor weeds and grass that makes weeding hard to get to. Pesticide is an option but is harder with a mass of plants and flowers. Design and construction matter but think throug
