Not going to lie, this was a big chunk for a small company out of the gate. We want to give and support where we live but we have now changed to a different model at this time.
This year we are planning on donating $250 twice this year to two different partners. PLUS, we are donating time to work with the City of Plano on their work days (our first one is Saturday May 10th!) for those who need assistance. This is part of the Property Standards group. We are part of Live Green in Plano and have already volunteered for a clean up day. Beginning of the year counted homeless.
Our foundation is faith and supporting where we work and live. The left hand is not to know what the right hand is doing but we wanted to share our belief in making a difference.
PSHS is near and dear to our hearts. Neal, Sheri and Rick went to PSHS. Evan played football for Varsity at PSHS. There are students who need financial help to succeed.
While not Plano, this is near and dear to us as this is where Evan adopted Echo and Juno in Oct & Nov 2023. They were diligent in how they vetted Evan and assured a safe home for the cats.
Plano is no different than large cities. Homelessness and families going hungry is real. Minnie's takes a step to help those who thought they may never have this reality.
The Children’s Advocacy Center model of a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) approach, was developed through the vision of Former Alabama Congressman, Robert E. “Bud” Cramer, Junior. While serving as District Attorney, Cramer reached the conclusion that efforts to investigate and prosecute child abuse were often duplicated and inefficient. In a criminal justice system designed around adults, child victims were being re-victimized by the system, having to retell their abuse stories to multiple investigators. Criminal cases were weakened by the lack of coordination between agencies. Therefore, Cramer and a group of key individuals pulled together law enforcement, criminal justice, Family and Protective Services, and medical and mental health workers into one coordinated team. Congressman Cramer’s vision to create a child-friendly environment where children could receive all services needed to help heal from abuse led to the creation of more than 1,000 Children’s Advocacy Centers across the country, with more than 70 centers in Texas.
